Ms. Miller's Life Story


Here I am with my son Rick and daughter Laura.  I'm the short one in the middle!

Hi!  Here's a little bit about me.  Raised in Georgia, I have also lived in New Mexico and, for the last 25 years, in San Jose.  This fall I am beginning my eleventh year of teaching.  Early in my work life, I taught biology, chemistry, general science and human physiology for five years at the high school level.  During a 22-year hiatus, I worked as a technical writer/editor and an environmental health and safety specialist in the high-tech and healthcare industries, and raised two wonderful children.  In 1998 I returned to teaching, this time to science at Morrill.  During my first five years at Morrill, I have taught earth, physical and life science, focusing on the latter.  My formal education includes master’s degrees in biology and public health.  I am deeply concerned about human effects on the environment and respect for others--
 including our non-human fellow Earthings.
