Collaboration:
The teacher will design
heterogeneous groups of three or four children
with a variety of academic skill levels and technology abilities.
As a class we will discuss the various roles
of team members, and then students will choose their own role. If they
have disagreements about the roles, they will “rock-paper-scissors” or vote
to make the final decision. We will look at training “experts” in technology, so that each group will have a variety
of experts to help accomplish the project goals.
Students will work with their team members on this project during regular
classtime throughout the week to be prepared to work in the computer lab
each Friday. As a team they will brainstorm activities for their lesson, methods
to teach the mini-lesson, research information, and bring together their
information into a lesson plan as a group. They will collaborate on an on-going
basis to edit, revise, and make their lessons better!
