The major biomes on earth are very diverse. Each biome contains living organisms that not only have ecological value but also economic value. The balance between organisms within a biome is very fragile and is easily disrupted. Although a meteorite impact is an extreme way of completely destroying a biome, destruction of biomes is constantly occurring as the result of human activities and occupation. Because of this biome destruction, the valuable organisms within the biome are becoming endangered and threatened with extinction. To prevent further loss of diversity within the biomes, humans must become aware of the causes of biome destruction and create environmental preservation plans that allow for responsible levels of human activity. |
