I currently live in San Jose California and teach a 5th grade gate cluster class.

 

Philosophy

 

I believe that a teacher’s job is to provide a rich, active environment where children can love learning.  School should be fun and interactive, always keeping the standards in mind.  I believe, that if we are to engage today's students, the project based learning model needs to be integrated into the curriculum. Designing and implementing technology rich projects has always been a goal of mine. 

Education

 

I received my undergraduate degree from San Jose State University with a major in Social Service and a minor in Psychology.  I spent 5 years working in East Palo Alto as a social worker and then many years in the computer/corporate environment.  It wasn’t until I stepped back into a classroom that I realized I had found my passion. 

 

I received my Professional Clear Teaching Credential for Elementary Education from National University in Santa Clara California.  As a life-long learner, I continue to take courses in writing, technology, history and educational philosophy.  


Hobbies


I love to read, garden, walk, hike, swim, bike and attending my son's baseball games.
